Have you ever tried to get kids to pose for a photo? It’s tough at the best of times, not least in the unnatural environment of a studio with lots of wires, reflectors and tripods to grab hold of and knock over?
Yes, I’m shuddering at the thought too.
I offer you an alternative. I offer you the excuse to relax and have fun with your family.
You can choose whether to head to a park, a field, a playground, or even stay at home for some messy play in the garden or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Maybe you’re teaching your child how to play a musical instrument, or just enjoy dancing round the living room together.
I come to you, in the comfort of a familiar environment of your choosing. There’s no large, unwieldy equipment. It’s just me, a camera and a big smile. The focus is on fun – you and your family playing and interacting.
Once you book your photoshoot, we’ll meet and have a chat about exactly what you’re after from the session. Perhaps you would like a canvas print to hang in the bedroom, or a beautiful bespoke photo album for the coffee table? You may even have delved into Pinterest and have some ideas of the kinds of images you love.
Family photoshoots usually take around 1-2 hours, depending on just how much fun and energy there is! We start off with the more high energy shots (whether this means your baby is having tummy time, or your toddler is racing round in circles, or your preschooler is launching themselves off the furniture, the aim is to capture the energy), and move towards the quieter, group photos towards the end of the session.
After the session, we’ll meet again to view your photo gallery together. You’ll get to choose your absolute favourite photos, and decide on what art work you’d like to take home.
