3 Reasons NOT to book a brand photoshoot

Considering a brand photoshoot?  Here are three reasons you should probably hold off (and what you can do in the meantime!).

1. Lack of Clarity in your Business

You’re not yet clear on what your business is all about.  It feels like there are so many options available to you, so many things you can offer and so many people you can help.

This happens very often with new businesses. It’s an exciting time, but it can also feel a little scary.  Trust that you will find your path, and every step you take will bring you closer to that clarity, to that “ah-hah” moment.

If things are beginning to crystallise, but you’re still a little unsure, or if you’re further along the path, then a brand shoot with me can really help.  We work together to get to the core of your business, which can really help boost your confidence that you’re on the right track.

But if you’re still at the everything-for-everyone stage, a few professional photos will still help boost your online presence, but hold off on the full brand shoot for now.

2. You’re Not Happy with your Branding

You’ve had your current branding for a little while (maybe it was something you cobbled together in the early days), but it doesn’t sit well with you any more.

Your brand photoshoot will be tailored to you and your business.  It’s designed to fit in with your branding, and if you’re not happy with your branding it’s important to get that sorted first (especially if it involves a significant colour change).

It is possible to have a simplified look-and-feel for your photos, but if you’re investing a full brand shoot, you really want your images to be strongly on-brand and working their hardest for you.

3. You like heavily posed images

Now, this isn’t a reason not to book a brand shoot in itself, but it is a reason to look for the right photographer for you (I’m probably not your gal).

My photos bring my clients to life for their audience – showcasing who they are and what they’re all about.  It’s hard (impossible, in my opinion) to let your magic sparkle, if you’re sitting awkwardly with a fixed expression.

I use various tips and techniques to get you relaxed in front of the lens and showing the world your amazing self (without the awkward poses).

Story-telling Photography

Wherever you are in your journey of running a business, there is no doubt that story-telling photography is a brilliant investment which will help bring you in front of your audience in an engaging, authentic and memorable way.

Maybe a full brand photoshoot isn’t right for you just yet, but there are other options available.
